About the role
As QA Manager, you'll own the quality standards that make Happy Day Pets treats consistently great, batch after batch. You'll build and run the QA systems that catch issues early, keep our single-ingredient promise honest, and ensure every bag meets the high bar our customers expect.
What you'll do
- Develop and manage QA programs, specs, and quality control checkpoints.
- Oversee inspection and testing of raw materials, in-process, and finished goods.
- Manage supplier quality, COAs, and incoming ingredient approval.
- Track quality metrics and drive continuous improvement.
- Lead root-cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
- Partner with Food Safety and Production to maintain standards.
- Maintain quality documentation and support audits.
What we're looking for
- 3+ years in QA within food or pet food manufacturing.
- Strong understanding of quality systems, specs, and CAPA processes.
- Familiarity with GMPs, HACCP, and GFSI-aligned standards.
- Data-driven with strong analytical and documentation skills.
- Detail-obsessed and comfortable holding a high standard.
- Collaborative leader who works well across production teams.
Nice to have
- Experience with freeze-dried or dehydrated products.
- Lab or sensory testing experience.
- Lean or Six Sigma exposure.
Compensation: Depending on experience.
