Treat bags are covered in claims. Two of the most common — “Made in the USA” and “grain-free” — are worth understanding, because they don't always mean what shoppers assume. Here's a plain-English breakdown.
“Made in the USA”
For us, made in the USA means our treats are produced here in small batches, with closer oversight of how they're made. It's about consistency and accountability — knowing where your dog's food comes from. (Tip: “packaged” or “distributed” in the USA isn't the same as “made” in the USA, so it's always worth a closer read.)
“Grain-Free”
Grain-free simply means no corn, wheat, soy, or other grains. At Happy Day Pets, our treats are grain-free because we start with real meat and a short list of whole ingredients — there's simply no need for grain fillers to bulk things up.
What to still check
A claim on the front is only part of the story. Flip the bag and look at the ingredient list itself: Is a real, named meat first? Is the list short? Can you pronounce everything on it? Those answers tell you more than any badge on the front.
